Terah Wharregard
Hello, my name is Terah, and I am a middle school English teacher at New Hope Christian School. As a parent of two children who also attend the school, I have a unique connection to the school community and a deep understanding of the needs of our students.
My journey at New Hope began as a substitute teacher, and I quickly found my passion for working with students. I also had the opportunity to help coach middle school basketball and volleyball, which gave me valuable experience working with students and building positive relationships. Finally, after spending so much time with the students, I felt called to begin teaching middle school English.
With an educational background in business and experience as a real estate broker for the last six years, I bring an unusual perspective to the classroom. At the school, I guide my students through learning and growing, just as in real estate, I counsel clients through purchasing a home. Teaching is similar to guiding clients through buying a home; both require strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to manage expectations.
I am deeply motivated by witnessing students develop a love for literature and writing. As students grow in self-confidence, they begin to open the gates to success with hard work and dedication. The spark that appears when a child discovers they are capable of anything they set their mind to is my inspiration to continue to be the biggest cheerleader for the students of New Hope.
Love and Obey the Lord
Deuteronomy 11:18-21 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.
